About Emma Thompson
As a counsellor at Becoming Cognitive Counselling. I help clients improve their mental health and well-being through 1-1 counselling sessions. I follow confidentiality, report to my supervisor, and create and manage client files and data entry. Specializing in addictions/crisis counselling and many other mental health disorders, and I have been working in this role since 2024. I am passionate about making a positive difference in people's lives.
I am a graduated on the honour roll in counselling/psychology in March 2024. I have a diploma of education from Yale University in the field of psychology and a high school diploma from Wellington Secondary School.
I have acquired multiple certifications, such as ASIST, CPR/AED/First Aid, and Cultural Safety, and more (seen below) that enhance my knowledge and skills in the field of mental health. I have previous experience as a mental health worker at the Canadian Mental Health Association, and a special needs childcare worker at BGC Canada, where I supported clients, children, and families with diverse needs and backgrounds. I am outgoing, honest, reliable, and focused on the work at hand. I’ve opened my own private practice and contribute to the field of mental health as per my knowledge.
